How does Chiropractic care work?
“Chiropractic treatment” has been around for over a hundred years… known as “Chiropractic”, however spinal manipulation has been practiced for thousands of years.
Most Chiropractors would admit that similar to medicine practiced over 100 years ago, modern Chiropractic has almost no resemblance to what it was 100 years, or even 20 years ago. Most modern Chiropractors use advanced diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, MRI’s, motion scans and CT scans to diagnose pathology (dysfunction) of the spine and other areas of the body, and use highly researched methods to correct them.
What is Chiropractic care?
Modern Chiropractic care is the assessment and treatment of any condition that is affecting movement of the spine, and any other part of the body. It is true that Chiropractors are highly trained at Chiropractic treatment, however the Chiropractors at Sunshine Coast treat other areas such as knees, hips, shoulders and other areas of the body. Chiropractic care is the diagnosis and treatment of any condition that is affecting the movement, function, or causing pain in the musculoskeletal system.
Our Sunshine Coast Chiropractors will often refer to, or work closely with our Physiotherapists to get the best results and resolve your condition fast.
What do our Chiropractors do?
In your initial consultation at Absolute Health, your Chiropractor will:
- Take a full medical History relevant to the condition you are seeing us for.
- Perform an examination, which may include neurological, orthopaedic muscle testing.
- Often we will need to take range of motion scans or digital xrays to assess your condition.
- Provide you with recommendations for what treatment is required to get the best result.
Note – In the majority of cases (if safe and deemed appropriate) treatment will be performed at your initial consultation. In rare circumstanced, further testing may be required first.
