Nadia Radcliffe has joined the physiotherapy team at Absolute Health. She is consulting at both the Mooloolaba and Nambour clinics, taking both general physiotherapy and vestibular appointments, and she is taking new patients now.

Where Nadia trained

Nadia holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, and her work covers musculoskeletal, neurological and vestibular physiotherapy. That range takes in a shoulder that will not settle, a knee that keeps giving way after a run, and the dizziness and balance problems that sit under vestibular care.

What Nadia treats

Nadia sees the usual spread of musculoskeletal problems: back and neck pain, shoulders, knees, hips and ankles, plus the niggles that turn up when training load climbs faster than the body adapts. Sports injuries are her main interest, and running injuries in particular.

She comes to that honestly. Nadia runs and plays netball competitively, trains for marathons and triathlons, and has worked through a few of her own injuries. She knows what it is like to be told to rest with a race already in the calendar, and she plans rehab around the whole person rather than the sore part.

Getting your independence and confidence back matters as much as the tissue healing does.

Vertigo, dizziness and balance

Alongside her musculoskeletal caseload, Nadia works as a vestibular physiotherapist. That side of the job deals with people whose problem is dizziness or unsteadiness rather than pain: the room spinning when you roll over in bed, feeling off-balance on your feet, or that vague fogginess that makes busy places hard work.

The most common cause of true vertigo is BPPV, where loose crystals in the inner ear send the balance system the wrong signal. It is diagnosed with positional testing and usually settled with repositioning manoeuvres such as the Epley, often in only a handful of visits. Where the problem is broader, treatment moves to gaze-stability and balance retraining, which is graded exercise for the vestibular system in much the same way you would load a tendon.

Nadia takes vestibular appointments at both Mooloolaba and Nambour, so you can book her for vestibular directly rather than starting with a general physio appointment. There is more on how this works on our vestibular physiotherapy page, and a fuller explanation of BPPV in Can physio fix vertigo?. Nadia joins Geoff Villacis and Zach Bastien as the third vestibular physiotherapist on the team.

What a session looks like

Expect hands-on treatment: massage, joint mobilisation and dry needling where it suits. That sits alongside exercise prescription, because loading the tissue is what holds the change in place.

Education is the part she cares about most. Nadia wants you leaving the room knowing what is going on, what you are doing between appointments and why it should help. It makes the plan a good deal easier to stick to.

Outside the clinic

Nadia trains for marathons and triathlons, mostly because she likes having something hard in the calendar. The rest of her time goes on friends, working her way through the Sunshine Coast's coffee shops and enjoying the slower pace up here.
